Alice Horn

Alice Horn is a freelance children’s illustrator and secondary school art teacher based in London. She studied Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, and then a PGCE in Art & Design at the Institute of Education, UCL. Alice’s illustrative work shows an enthusiasm for colour, animal characters, and learning. Her work consists of a combination of gouache paint, colouring pencil, and working digitally on Procreate. Alice loves creating colourful illustrated worlds with characters you can fall in love with and currently has an obsession with Penguins. She strives to combine illustration and learning in her work, whether it be about what certain animals eat or what habitats they live in!

Penguin’s Party Problems

Tate, April 2022 It’s that time of year again and Penguin is trying to plan a party for baby penguin. He heads to the supermarket to get some fish – everyone loves fish! But wait a second, Giraffe has texted him to say he only likes leaves! So off Penguin goes back to the supermarket. Soon enough his other friends begin to message to tell him which foods they like and after many trips to the supermarket Penguin finally gets home. But now what should he make with all this food?!
