Shona MacLean

Shona MacLean was born in Inverness and brought up in the Scottish Highlands where her parents were hoteliers. After Dingwall Academy, she studied at Aberdeen University where she obtained an MA and a PhD in History. She began writing while living on the Banffshire coast and bringing up her four children. As S.G. MacLean she is the author of the Alexander Seaton and the Damian Seeker series of historical crime mysteries, both of which are set in the C17th, and of the standalone C18th-set Bookseller of Inverness. Her first novel, The Redemption of Alexander Seaton, was longlisted for the Desmond Elliot award and shortlisted for the Saltire first book and CWA Historical dagger awards. She has twice won the CWA Historical Dagger for books in the Seeker series.

Shona now lives near Inverness, with her husband and dog.
